After spending countless years in retail management, I realized that what I wanted for myself and for my family was more than retail had to offer. I reached out to some of my closest friends to figure out what I was missing in my life. Over time, I began to realize that software development checked all my boxes. I was looking for solving problems, challenging myself and constant learning - software development had it all there.

So I started researching what the best path for me would be, to help me break into the field - I found Grand Circus Full-Stack Bootcamp was the best match for me. 12 weeks later I graduated the bootcamp and was officially in the market for my new career. Then the tech layoffs of 2023 hit, and it became even harder to step into the industry - especially for a junior developer with very little experience. So I kept trying to push forward, learn more, and be ready for when an opportunity knocked. After keeping in touch with Matthew, who I worked with for a while in both of our retail days, thankfully I was granted this opportunity to join Birds Of A Feather Developers and I’m looking forward to growing in my skills.
